Well zip-a-dee doo da if it ain’t self deprecating and overthinking hours :D
I’m definitely not as present and empathetic as I could be for some of y’all, and I’m sorry about that. Also I need to read your writing and see your art more. And check in on people more.
But you know what, let me show you how I stop saying things like that.
I want to do all those things for everyone. But I’m also brain dead and slowly trying to breach the surface and keep my head above water after drowning for a few days, so there’s that too. (I am getting better ☺️👍🏻) This isn’t a call out post, this is me reorienting my brain since it’s making me overthink things, and I’m doing it here so others can see that yes, even us “well adjusted adults” run into this issue too and this is how we seemingly don’t lose our marbles.
To all of y’all who are drowning and feel guilty if you don’t try to juggle taking care of the entire freaking world while you’re actively inhaling water, numbing out into nonexistence, and slowly dying inside, stop it. Take a look at yourself and recognize that you’re not God, you can’t fix everything and everyone, and you will never be able to. What you can do is remember that you can’t give others light if you have none for yourself. You’re not perfect, don’t you dare expect yourself to be. When you’re hurting you’re hurting. Be humble and responsible and recognize that in order for you to help others, you have to help yourself first.
Thanks for coming to me half-addled, Legend infused TedTalk. ❤️👍🏻

On a list of most likely to be part dragon to least likely to be part dragon, where would you put each link in the chain?
Well I'm probably biased BUT
Warriors is at the top, since he interacts very regularly with a dragon(knight) and I really do just think they look similar. they do. They also act somewhat as narrative foils (both are prideful, Volga continues down the path, Link turns back due to his friends, blah blah) so I just. yeah. I'm convinced Volga is legitimately his dad.
Sky is probably right around there with him, just because he interacts with his dragons the most extensively, and they all seem pretty fond of him (...in their own ways lol. lookin at you Faron). I'd make him related to the thunder dragon personally, though that would probably lead to some very strange paradoxes in regards to how Sky exists lol
Wind I think is next, since he's got the next-friendliest dragon who he interacts with a fair amount. I don't have much reasoning apart from that (though Valoo does burn down the fort of the guy who nearly killed him multiple times, so there is that), but it would be plausible at least.
Wild is next I guess, since he's got dragons that aren't enemies. He even helps Naydra a whole bunch at that one part, who's to say he couldn't (somehow??) be related to her? Mom? Naydra mom?? I'm writing that down actually that could be really interesting–
For everyone else I'd say it's probably about the same amount of likelihood (which is to say, slim). You could maybe make a case for Time being related somehow if you factor in the manga thing with Volvagia, but that's about it. Same with Twilight, you could borrow the manga thing with Argorok, though I would edit some of that a bit personally.
Legend's dragons are all bosses as far as I know (though gemesaur king-related Legend would be COOL), which is actually a little surprising. Maybe you could contrive something with that dancing dragon dungeon though. Maybe.
Four just has Gleerok, a fiery dragon boss. Again, you could borrow from the manga and have it be a corrupted dragon, but it seems more creaturey to me so that might get weird.
Least likely is Hyrule I think. He's got like three dragons and all are bosses. though I guess you could make an argument for him having the same colored eyes as Aquamentus and Gleeok's scales. That's pretty much it tho.

What happened to your Discord?
Where do I begin.
Well, first, hi—I recognize your avatar from the Galebound Discord so I'm assuming you're the same person.
I got this message late last night (my very first Ask lol) and I've been mulling over a response since. Really, going into it at length would be Trauma Dumping on Main so I'm not going to go into it at length. Probably. I'm bad at not rambling. (After writing everything below: yeah. Bad at not rambling)
Long story short, the Galebound Discord had become a major anxiety trigger. After attempting to send the finished novel out to 100+ agents and a respected, professional (and very expensive) editor for a chance at traditional publishing, the rejection was a crushing blow.
After that, I completely froze up creatively. The last time I made an illustration of any sort was in 2020, and the last prose was in 2022.
Ever since, any time I got a notification of a new message in the GB discord, I had an anxiety spike. Oh no, anxiety says, people are going to remember this server exists and ask Questions about Galebound and then I'm going to have to confront and explain my Failure.
So, I made the server a read-only archive. I've been grappling with the next steps, like do I keep it open as a not-related-to-galebound server? I did make good friends on the server and, when it was active, the vibes were mostly good. But ultimately I've still not healed from the creative blow, and it's a wound I don't want randomly poked.
Also I've hit the stage of my life where I don't want to be the Adult in the Room (i.e. a server moderator). It didn't happen often, but it definitely did happen, and I'm super over being in charge. I quit being a manager at work for a reason.
Anyway, I have been healing. I went back to my ancient roots and got really, really, really into Legend of Zelda fanfiction again lmao, which is how I got started writing in the first place. With my husband's help, I drew something for the first time in four years (he did the base sketch!). I'm being stupidly self-indulgent and it's great. I don't know if my creative batteries will ever recover enough to dip back out into an original project again, especially with the intention of publishing. But fukkit, I ain't a Magician and I ain't Obligated to try.
Either way, I learned a lot about becoming a better writer and what mistakes I made with GB (honestly, problem #1 was trying to get a 125k word monstrosity into the market as a first time author, at a time when traditional publishing is a little fucked in the first place). The editor recommended the book The Fantasy Fiction Formula by Deborah Chester and parts of it have been really helpful at shoring up my problem areas (particularly the bit on writing sequels to scenes).
Anyway, that's what it is. I'm keeping the server read-only for the foreseeable future. To be clear, I'm not mad at anyone who continued posting on the server after it went quiet—it's not like I told anyone I was getting triggered, so not anyone's fault for tripping into it. It is what it is.

And now... the moment you've all been waiting for (or not, which is fine)! Let's talk Brawl Talk because OH BOY am I excited.
Tumblr media
This is gonna be a pretty long post, so bear with me! I'll go over one section at a time and go over what I liked and disliked. Spoilers ahead! If you haven't watched the latest Brawl Talk, go do so! One more reminder, these are just my thoughts! You don't have to agree with me!
Without further to do... let's talk!
New Brawlers (Angelo and Melodie)
Tumblr media
Now, when I first saw Angelo, I immediately went, "HE'S UGLY LMAO." After getting used to him, though, he's actually not that bad. His design is really good and is somewhat of an anti-cupid (perfect for a gal like Willow). Also, his voice actor did such a good job so much energy was put into him.
He doesn't seem like he's gonna be incredibly busted, but he is gonna be good in the right hands (while I'm at it pay your respects to Mortis Mains ya'll, they just took a major l with this guy). Sorry Larry and Lawrie, but you two are gonna have to step aside, I NEED this man as much as I need the next brawler.
Tumblr media
I. LOVE. MELODIE!!! I did think she was a League of Legends character at first, lol.
Apparently, I've heard people say she is the first female assassin, which is very interesting! Out of the two, I feel she poses more of a threat. She might be broken, though her main attack is WEAK.
I've been through the Reddit and have seen so many people talk about how she looks like Janet, and I'd like to take the time to bring up a little theory... what if she was Janet and Bonnie's mom? I would go into this further, but we have to keep going!
Overall, I really like these two! Their designs are really good, and the character designers did a great job! Their pins and profile pictures show SO much personality! Expect some art of these two soon! However, if I may say something, I wish their skins were cooler. Why couldn't Angelo have a Sands of Time skin too? 😭
Speaking of Sands of Time...
Sands of Time and Ragnorok + Skins
Out of both seasons, I'm very hyped for Sands of Time. The "Sands of Time" is a very interesting concept that can be used very creatively. Can't wait to see what the animation brings! Though I think we all know why I'm hyped...
Tumblr media
My best guest was that this skin was gonna be a Epic/Mythic skin, but a LEGENDARY?????? WHAT?????? Chuck fans we just fucking WON. I've seen the sneak peaks and heard his voice lines, Nicolai did an INCREDIBLE job as always. I'm am SO READY to go broke for this skin, but first, I must purchase some seasonal skins since they've been on my agenda for a while.
Tumblr media
Loki Chester has to be the one I'm looking forward to getting the most for the Ragnorok seasons/skins. Plus, it's free! (If you have good luck).
Side note and honorable mention, Thor Bibi was just the icing on the cake for Bibi Mains this update. While I feel like a few more details could be added for this skin to make in truly "legendary," everything else about it great, including the voice acting! Poor Bull, he's the only one in his yet to get a Legendary Skin.
Ranked and The Report System
Okay, not related, but I love how they disses on the community a bit in this section, LOL. They know what, at least Reddit and Twitter are doing (and let's keep it that way, they don't need to know what's going on over here lol).
Anyways, while I'm excited (and scared) for Ranked with modifiers I wanna take this time to talk about a concern... the report system...
Tumblr media
Now, I know there's a reason why we have 10 reports; but what's gonna stop so angry guy from reporting me if I didn't do anything? I feel like there's a chance this could backfire, that's all.
Hypercharges and Balance Changes
No Mortis or Poco hypercharge :(
Cordelius was definitely unexpected and very scary. Getting slowed in the shadow realm is a death sentence.
I wish Belle got a little more this update, but I'll take the hypercharge.
Move over Charlie, there's a new spider person in town, and he's a DINOSAUR.
Onto to balance changes. 84???? GOD DAMN. Adrien wasn't fucking around this update. Edgar is dead (and rightfully so FUCK HIM) and Doug might actually stand a chance in this Meta. I'll miss the days when Hypercharges were game breaking just for the community's rage, but it's probably for the greater good.
Whatever the Fuck the Random Skins Were
Now Primo Shark, I can take (though I'm definitely not gonna be able to take Baby Shark as a in game theme, I'm muting music for that entire time period). Pitcher Fang is a good skin too. Squeaky note is very... meh, but it's a rare skin so you can't expect much.
BUT POOP SPIKE.
POOP SPIKE.
What
the
FUCK?
It was tolerable until I saw the losing animation, and to that, I say EWWWWWWWWWW 🤮🤮🤮. WHYYYYY!?!?!? THAT'S SO NASTY!!!
I get that this is an April Fool's skin, but WHYYY THAT??? Thank GOD this skin is expensive. If I catch any of you with this skin, I'm gonna need to ask if you're okay. I don't wanna show a picture of this skin to you all, or else I'm pretty sure Tumblr would kick me to the curve. This is easily what I was least excited for for this update.
Overall Rating and Final Thoughts
Now, it's time to throw the final ratings on screen and say anything else that's on my mind.
New Brawlers - 9.5/10, definitely getting both! Let's hope they get some cool skins soon!
Sands of Time - 7/10, the concept and Chuck carry this season don't fight me on this. /j
Ragnorok - 6.5/10, I'm not as hyped, but I will grind for that Chester skin!
Ranked - 8/10, now I have a reason to actually play this mode. Hopefully, the report system is fair enough...
Hypercharges - 6.5/10, again not as hype, but I will be snatching that Belle Hypercharge since she's the only one out of the 6 I maxed out. She deserved more, though. :(
Balance Changes - 10/10, bye Edgar begone. F for the twins, however; I liked them.
Random Stuff - 3/10, not even Pitched Fang can save us from whatever the devs were on.
Overall Season 24/25 is...
8/10! (Poop Spike ruined it >:( )
And that's it. For those who have read to the end, thank you so much for heating me ramble it means so much. Expect some headcanons and more little theories soon (as in some time this week). Until then, ciao!

It's me again from the overexcited ramble from earlier BUT I'M NOT DONE
Bart knowing about Gar before others feels so real because he's spent his childhood surrounded by people who felt like Gar does right now, and maybe Gar (not to mention Bart himself) felt like that in the future as well. I wonder how well Bart knew BB in his own time, if he ever really knew him at all, and if it has impact on their current friendship
Oh to see the effects of Bart's childhood on his behaviour in the present, you've sprinkled bits and pieces, and I'm taking it all in like a starving man
And the Thawne DNA confirmed!! GOD it was so good, the love he has for his mom and the despise he has for his grandfather (not Barry obviously) is perfection, I hope Thad got what he deserved when Bart got out
And FINALLY the recognition he deserves with his intelligence, like you said: he knows his stuff. So happy to finally read a fic which shows that Bart is GOOD at what he does, he built a time machine for heaven's sake!
BUT ALSO TYE WAS SUCH A LEGEND LMFAO I love the friendship (or more like feigned frenemyship?) he has with Bart, their dynamic in your fic is hilarious
Okay that was all, thank you for reading this rollercoaster
Your work is absolutely incredible and I can't wait to see where the story/stories are going from here
love the energy 😍 sdfghjkl
yeah i like to think that as soon as gar came back from Mars bart took one look at gar and was like damn he’s going to be going through it
i just imagine mental illness would be extremely prevalent in bart’s original era, i think it’s by-product of a post-apocalyptic society that makes too much sense. And with no system in place to treat it as normal, well bart must have seen some pretty intense stuff
honestly i really don’t know (or have an idea lol) of how well bart new gar in his TL, in my opinion he didn’t know him personally at all. I’m usually in the camp that most of the team had died in one way or another in bart’s time. The ones that i usually do think he knew or knew of “in person” some what at the very least are Barbara Gordon, Wally West (this is a maybe), Lian and maybe that’s about it. It varies with either more members or less, hoe stay i’m unsure, but these r the ones that i typically think of. With how coy bart was when he first came to the past and spoke to gar, honestly anything is possible though lol
i just usually don’t think that the original members were as involved i. his childhoos as some fics make them out to be, one of the biggest reason is because i think the ones who were alive, dispersed to different locations to take part in rebelling etc so it would make it hard for him to know many personally, he might have heard of and gotten details, but beside that it’s really up in the air. The only HC i sometimes think of /include is Barbara Gordon being the one to teach him how to read/write etc education stuff when he was really young and the tornado twins were still alive (so before he was 5), but other than that, idk
“Thawne DNA confirmed” sdfghjkl LOVE THIS, yeah u heard it here first folks, it’s confirmed 😁 jk lol yeah it makes me super happy to include it in AAIT i feel like it really fleshes out his backstory on time related things and i just love all things related to him and his mom and his thawne side, it’s just very satisfying to think about so being able to explore that and HCs in my fic, very fun. I have such a specific vision for Thads involvement in Barts and (ofc as a result) Melonis lives and there will be a little more on that in future chapters, so stay tuned 🤩
PREACH omg the only thing that’s left for us is to see the day his wiki page is updated on it !! capability and intelligence to me is such a key bart feature idk if this make any sense but it just is lol i’d update the wiki myself if i could try to understand the editing process i just don’t have the energy to go thru reading all the rules or figuring it out to do it rn
tye + bart friendship is everything to me i just feel like they’d be rlly entertaining together just so much potential lol
thank u so much for sharing ur thoughts and kind words with me i appreciate it so much <33 and again thank u for reading AAIT, i really appreciate it 🧡

Why are you running a poll about gay disabled characters and allowing headcannons? Why not focus on canon lgbt characters with disabilities?
Sorry for taking so long to respond, but I wanted to wait until after Round One was posted. (Ignore the fact that it is several days after round 1 finished posting, I got busy). ((Extra update: lol this is such a late response I haven’t been doing like anything)). Also, sorry for such an extensive breakdown on an honest question, we just want to have this to refer to if we get more questions like this.
A quick breakdown: This post will have four parts: a practical explanation, an explanation more related to our blog set up, just a more philosophical explanation, and under the cut a breakdown of more headcannon like characters.
Practical Explanation:
So one of the reasons why we decided to allow more headcanon like characters is simply the logistics on defining what is more fanon or not is a pain. If you look down at the list you can see there’s an ambiguous section, and that’s because especially regarding sexuality/gender often times there is conflicting opinions/information from actors, producers, whatever. (Ex. Many of the Star Trek characters (their various propaganda has decent information.)) Additionally in the cases of especially Spock and to some extent Frodo them being read as queer has a really long history through the fandom, so to discount them from this feels a bit weird. There are also other cases where due to time period of the media specifically there aren’t gonna be specific terms for some disabilities or sexualities or genders. Overall, there is just a lot of gray areas, and to be like some noncanon stuff counts but others don’t is kinda a hard line to draw. (That being said we did reject a few characters for really not fitting, all characters in the showdown have a decent explanation for being here.)
Blog Set Up Explanation:
This is a little bit more rude (sorry). Honestly, from the get go we’ve established that noncanon characters would count, we didn’t get any complaints until we actually started the polls, and there’s not any way that they will be taken out at this point. If you don’t agree with who we let be in the showdown don’t vote for them.
Philosophical Explanation:
On a more philosophical basis, characters can still resonate with people as having similar stories/experiences to them even if they are not canonically LGBTQ or disabled. This is a place that is celebrating LGBTQ and disabled characters, and if a character’s experiences are important to you why shouldn’t they qualify?
Note about qualifications: characters with disabilities that get cured do count as disabled, also word of god counts as confirmation.
Having to sort this out was confusing as hell, apologies for any errors.
Characters that are not canonically disabled:
Sabran IX Berethnet (The Priory of the Orange Tree)
Robin Buckley (Stranger Things)
Rudyard Funn (Wooden Overcoats)
Characters that are really ambiguous/confusing:
Julian Bashir, Data, Elim Garak, Geordi La Forge (Star Trek)
Riku (Kingdom Hearts)
Kuruto Ryuki (AI: The Somnium Files- Nirvana Initiative)
Chu Sangwoo (Semantic Error)
Characters that are not canonically LGBTQ+:
Kaz Brekker (Six of Crows)
Saki Tenma (Project Sekai)
Kurogane (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle)
Xiao Xingchen, Song Lan (The Untamed / Mo Dao Zu Shi)
Daan (Fear and Hunger)
Homura Akemi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
Patchouli Knowledge (Touhou Project)
Havelock Vetinari (Discworld)
Wayne Terrisborn (Mistborn)
Lapis Lazuli (Steven Universe)
Link (Legend of Zelda)
Qifrey (Witch Hat Atelier)
Viktor (Arcane)
Chicory (Chicory: A Colorful Tale)
Johnny Joestar (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run)
Schnn T’gai Spock, T’Poll, Keyla Detmer (Star Trek)
Chirrut Îmwe, Darth Maul (Star Wars)
Gaige (Borderlands)
Hiccup Haddock (How To Train Your Dragon)
Jem Carstairs (The Shadowhunter Chronicles)
Frodo Baggins (Lord of the Rings)
Eichi Tenshouin (Ensemble Stars!!)
Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Bucky Barnes, Professor X, Matt Murdock (Marvel)
Hitori Gotoh (Bocchi the Rock!)
Jace Beleren (Magic: The Gathering)
Joly (Les Misérables)
Nodoka Hanadera (Healin’ Good Precure)
Arthur Lester (Malevolent Podcast)
Hearthstone (Magnus Chase)
Hebe Harrison (Doctor Who)
Hermann Gottlieb (Pacific Rim)
Harry Du Bois (Disco Elysium)
Merle Highchurch (The Adventure Zone)
Elphaba Thropp (Wicked)
Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)
Ricky Potts (Ride the Cyclone)
Tokito Minoru (Wild Adapter)
Blade (Honkai Star Rail)

hey there!
this might be like a weird ask, but i've seen you post a lot about the legend of korra, so.
do you think it's worth watching the show? i've been avoiding it for a while now simply because i'm afraid it's gonna disappoint. i know it is a separate narrative with entirely new characters, but from the few scenes i've seen it just looks sooooo different from the gaang's story that i'm just afraid they've butchered the original universe. plus, my favorite character from atla is aang, and i do not know if any character from korra will have that same kind of charm.
on the other hand, i know it attracts a lot of fans. what do you think?:)
(btw, amazzzzzzing job on both your zukaang fanfic and the artwork for it !!)
Hi anon! :) This isn't a weird ask at all, I'd be happy to help!
So the short answer is: yes, I think it's worth watching! I know exactly how you feel - Aang is also my favorite AtLA character, so I was also very apprehensive when LoK was first announced way back in like 2011. But my apprehension didn't stop me from looking forward to and eventually enjoying it, mainly because AtLA was/still is my strongest and longest running hyperfixation to date, and I (especially at that time) was willing to consume any scrap of media related to it lol. We were very starved for content in the olden days :')
I'll go ahead and give you a spoiler-free breakdown of the four LoK seasons - this might help you decide:
Book 1: Air is definitely is quite a bit different from AtLA (which was done on purpose by the creators to differentiate it so it wouldn't just feel like the exact same show). Book 1 is still my least favorite of the LoK seasons for this reason (as well as for questionable writing decisions), but there are still some great moments. You may notice that Book 1 ends very "neatly" - this is because LoK was originally supposed to be a miniseries before Nickelodeon picked it up for 3 more seasons (which I think was a large part of why the writing suffers a lot in the first half of the show as a whole).
Book 2: Spirits also starts out pretty rough (with more questionable writing decisions), but it picks up about halfway through. Some people say this is their least favorite season, but I've always enjoyed it overall a ton more than Book 1. While some of the additions to the lore of the Avatar and the Spirit World are polarizing amongst the fandom (and there are some things I wish they'd done differently), I still ate that shit up when it first aired lol.
Book 3: Change is where, in my and many others' opinions, the show suddenly rises to the same level of quality as AtLA. There's a lot of traveling, we get to see some familiar faces and several classic AtLA locations from Book 2: Earth, the villains are the best villains in any Avatar media, and the plot and emotional core of the season are just so, so good. I can't say any more because I don't want to spoil even a little bit of it. I personally think LoK is worth watching just for this season alone.
Book 4: Balance is not as good as Book 3, but I enjoyed it a lot more than Book 1 and Book 2. It does a really good job of exploring trauma/PTSD and the relevance of the role of the Avatar in a modernizing world, and is a decent followup to Book 3. What happens at the end of Book 4 is also SO culturally impactful (not sure if you know why, but I won't say anything specific), especially for queer AtLA fans such as myself.
While LoK definitely isn't perfect, I still accept it as canon for the world of Avatar, and it's still a show I've rewatched several times (though I tend to skip a lot of Book 1 and the first half of Book 2 when I do lmao). If you decide to watch it, go in with an open mind knowing that it is not going to be exactly like AtLA. Even in the not-as-good seasons, there's still some gems to behold. And what's also nice about LoK is that each season is about 12ish episodes, so you'll get to the really good stuff (Book 3) pretty quickly if you binge lol.
Feel free to send me another ask if you have any more specific questions about LoK! :)

No question, but just read Amneshroom. That was so good but poor Hyrule😭 He did so good even tho he was all confused and stuff.
When he thought of tearing Wild’s champion’s tunic I worried for a second bc Wild wouldn’t have been happy. Angry? Probably not bc he’d easily see y Hyrule tore it, but more just really sad that his beautiful tunic made specifically by his Zelda was now ruined beyond repair.
Also, going into the story I thought Wild was gonna be the one to have temporary amnesia bc well, he’s the amnesiac and I thought ud absolutely whump him for it lol but I definitely liked seeing how it played out w Hyrule being the one. I thought about how Wild would’ve been if he’d been amnesiaced and I’m not sure he’d have been ok😭 I mean if he’d been like Hyrule then he’d have known his name and purpose but beyond that? I feel like he might’ve spiraled a bit being like “I forgot again?? Nonono! I can’t-I can’t do this again!😭 but he still would’ve tried to help Hyrule bc he’s still a hero.
Anyway, long story short, I loved it!😂
WOAH thank you for the ask!!! I read this one quite a few times in excitement, because I LOVE to yap about things like this!!!
for the champion's tunic, I really wanted to focus on that detail of love and care. the tunic is really important since it carries that memory of 100 years ago, so even if Wild's memory has some holes in it, the tunic still symbolizes the past and what was important then. so the tunic is vaguely representing love, care, memories, all of that sort of stuff. so when Hyrule considers ripping it, then pauses, he has that moment of "oh...... this is important and I can't destroy it." unlike Hyrule's clothes, Wild's tunic is I think handmade? and by someone close to him, too. Hyrule's never had that sort of love and care directed at him (well, that he can remember, anyway) so it hurts him a little. and then, of course, the representation of memories. kinda applies to both of them!!
I did consider making Wild the amnesiac but I changed my mind because of the likely reaction. like you said, he would totally spiral and it would be more about his revival and subsequential loss of memory from the beginning of his adventure rather than the events of the fic. so I changed it to Hyrule since the two of them are adventuring buddies!! unfortunately, I also had to make Wild unconscious/unaware for a lot of it for the same reason, since the fic isn't about his past, it's just a silly oopsie with a questionable mushroom.
but anyways THANK YOU for reading and thank you even more for sending an ask!!! I'm so so glad you enjoyed it and I loved answering (rambling, really) about the fic!! <3
link to the fic below if anyone is interested!!

Rank the LU boys 1 to 9 with reasons
Oh gosh okay
*deep breath*
Here we go
Time. This one’s no surprise to anyone I’m sure XD. I loved the Hero of Time before I even got into LU. His tragic tale struck me as so interesting and heart wrenching. Getting into LU pretty much sealed the deal. He’s just such a great character. He’s through so much yet he’s still kind and tries to be the best leader he can be. I mean, this is the guy who stuck around after his death to train his ancestor cause he felt bad about leaving Hyrule without a hero (and also because he regretted being forgotten. HELLO ANGST). Plus, he’s a major gremlin imo. Just a hidden one lol
Warriors. The captain was actually the Link who got me interested in LU. I read @skyward-floored ‘s fic “Up in Arms” and fell in love with him. I’m naturally attracted to snarky, confident characters with a traumatic backstory and secret soft side (Flynn Ryder was my high school crush if that tells you anything XD) so it was kinda a given I’d love this guy lol. I’ll admit my first read through of LU was mainly me fangirling over him and analyzing his every appearance. (Not that that’s changed much).
Legend. He’s tied with Warriors for second tbh. But since I’ve gotta list them all out I’ll just place him in third. I hadn’t played any of Legend’s games when I got into LU but right after getting attached to Warriors, I got attached to him. Largely because to me he’s extremely relatable. He’s also multilayered in the best way. A soft sweetheart beneath all that snark he tries to hide behind.
Sky. I love Sky for pretty much the same reason as Legend. He’s relatable. Very much so XD. And also more complex than I think he often gets credit for. Beneath the calm, sleepy nice guy demeanor he’s got going on is a fierce warrior who’s been to hell and back for the person he loves. And would do it all again. He fought a GOD for goodness sake! He’s freaking awesome!! Also, Skyward Sword is my favorite Loz game so there’s that too. Plus, him and Sun? Chef’s kiss. Couple goals
Twilight. The older sibling thing endears him to me a lot. He carries a large burden and always has. Plus, his love for animals, gentle heart, and the way he brought down Midna’s walls with his kindness just makes me love him. Who can’t like a guy who rambles about Ordon goats and carries kittens like babies??
Wild. He is widely liked so for me that puts him farther down the list just because I kinda get tired of seeing endless content for him lol. But still. I love him very much. I mean, wild child with a traumatic past, memory issues, a mischievous and snarky side no one sees coming and a fierce love for his friends? YES PLEASE. Also he has long hair.
Four. Since I came into the fandom right around the time when that comic was posted I’ve always been a bit hesitant to write him. But he’s grown on me a lot lately. I actually had fun torturing him for whumptober XD He’s got an intriguing personality and I hope to see more of him in future LU updates.
Wind. I love this little dude A LOT. But I’ve never truly been able to get super invested in characters who are canonically much younger than me. Plus he is just SO HARD for me to write. So while I find his personality adorable and his dynamic with the other Links great, I can’t help putting him farther down on the list.
Hyrule. I like him, really I do. But I just can’t get as invested in him and his story as much as the other Links. I’m not sure why tbh

I'm curious about 4. and 16. for the choose violence ask!
Sure thing! Since you didn’t specify a fandom, let’s go through them all. ^-^
Under the cut for both length and spoilers for some of the fandoms. lol Proceed with caution as always.
4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?
Bungou Stray Dogs fandom: Well, I’ve blocked about seven different people in this fandom, actually; for the first five, it was because they were a group of five haters who, by their own self-admission, instead of blocking or avoiding me for the sake of their own mental health when they found my content uncomfortable, continued to keep me unblocked and even actively seek out my page just so they could get angry/upset and then send me harassment in asks and/or vague post about how much they hated me.
Personally, I didn’t care all that much about the vagueposting; as I’ve said in the past, I actually kind of find hate motivational and fueling for my creative fire from time to time, but it was clear that it was getting very unhealthy for them, and since they hadn’t the sense to do it themselves, I simply blocked them from my own end so that they couldn’t see me anymore.
For one of the other two, they just had the worst fucking takes in the world, and their content kept somehow getting recommended to me as being “based on my likes” despite that I had never liked anything similar (or even anything from them), and since I found it to be headache-inducingly bad — and not even in an entertaining way, either — I simply blocked them.
And for the last one, they actually used to be a friend of mine, but they unfortunately seemed to have fallen down into a toxic rabbit hole since our last interaction years ago, and eventually came back and started accusing a close friend (and me, purely by association) of terrible shit for absolutely no reason, so I blocked them. I really do wish them well and that they come back around to their senses someday and realize the error of throwing accusations around simply because you’re still bitter over a breakup, but seeing as that’s unlikely, I’ll spare myself the trouble and just keep them blocked.
Legend of Zelda fandom: I said in a previous post where I listed out answers to all of the questions for this fandom that I’ve never blocked anyone in the Zelda fandom for fandom-related reasons, and that’s true, but I did block someone in this fandom once, for other reasons.
It’s a little bit of a long story, but to put it simply, there was this guy who had been stalking my now ex-girlfriend (mtf, tho she hadn’t come out as trans yet at the time while we were in the relationship) and had created a sock puppet account on a large Zelda forum we were on in order to find out information about me.
The story actually runs a lot deeper than just being a cut-and-dried “oh, he was a creepy stalker who had bad intent” situation — there’s a lot of nuance involved that would take quite a while to dig into and explain — but as I don’t really feel like getting into the whole tale right now, I’ll just leave it at that even tho the guy came clean to me out of guilt shortly after creating the account, it was my ex’s firm insistence that I block him, and so I did as she asked with it. And that was that.
Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel fandom: I’ve never blocked anyone from this fandom, but God has it been tempting sometimes… Thankfully, I don’t follow any blogs that make me feel like that, but if someone’s annoying ass bad takes ever start continually appearing on my recommended like they did with BSD, believe you me I’mma start blocking faster than the speed of light.
Other fandoms: I’ve never blocked anyone in any other fandoms, actually, and I can’t say I really have any active reason to at the moment, as most of them seem chill enough to not be an active and rampant threat unless you go looking for them.
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
Bungou Stray Dogs fandom: … sighs …We’re really doing this, aren’t we? Okay. Listen, I want to start this out by saying that I am a huge advocate for AUs and personal canons and ships and whatever else out there in the fictional world that you can imagine — go ham, have fun with it.
That being said, I will never in my life understand the appeal a very specific portion of the fandom finds in the concept that Arthur Rimbaud/Randou is as equally cold, unhinged, and detached as Paul Verlaine — often to the point where people genuinely allow that AU headcanon to skew their view of canon and convince themselves that it is such, when nothing could be farther from the truth (and the truth is actually far more unique, deep, and interesting).
Although the block button has largely solved this issue for me these days, my eyes have unfortunately already seen far too many posts of people talking about how a large majority of the fandom “gets Arthur wrong” because they don’t make him and Paul into this unhinged, cold-hearted assassin duo, and frankly, it’s just bullshit.
You can enjoy and/or ignore whatever the fuck you want in a series for your own personal canon and AUs, but don’t delude yourself and lie to others about official canon in the process because you’re pissy that the uppermost levels of official canon don’t represent certain characters the way you’ve imagined them in your head.
For one thing, if everyone around you is supposedly the issue, and even the uppermost levels of official canon themselves in their original language are supposedly the issue….then I hate to say it, but the only person or thing in need of a reality check is probably you.
Arthur was never an assassin; these people out there who are acting like “oh, Arthur being a spy means he must be cold-blooded and must have committed as many murders as Paul has” are insane; despite what certain stories in media will tell you, being a spy does not necessarily have to ever involve murder, and even if it did, Paul could have easily been the one doing the murdering. Is Arthur 100% innocent? Are his hands 100% clean of blood? No! But canonically, the only 1,000% confirmed act of physical harm he has ever committed was the attempted murder of Dazai and Chuuya, and even then he showed significant hesitation, and only committed to doing that so as to both save Paul and to avoid potentially harming significantly more people should assassins have been sent after him. Is it probable he may have killed people during the faked Arahabaki incident? Yes. Is it probable he may have either directly or indirectly killed at least a small number people while either working as a spy or as a mafioso? Yes. But is it confirmed? No. There is nothing at all that directly, explicitly confirms he himself has ever killed anyone at his own hands. It is likely that he has, but unless it is ever directly stated that he did, it is still technically not canon and thus 100% up for interpretation based on what you would like to believe about him. Until we know otherwise, he could have killed as few or as many people as you so desire.
However, what is not up for interpretation when it comes to official canon is that if these murders did occur, they were absolutely not done in cold blood. True canon — the original JP light novel(s), and, second to that in the canon hierarchy, the original JP Stage Plays — have gone far out of their way to express that Arthur is the farthest thing from a cold, emotionless killer. Despite how some would like to believe, Paul is not his “one exception”; Arthur cares about the lives of literally everyone and feels deep, intense remorse and hesitance over the idea of harm coming to literally everyone. If you think this man is “cold-hearted”, you have not read the actual canon — you have either watched an adaptation that took some massive liberties and not looked past that, or you have made up a story in your head based on what you would have preferred, and you refuse to accept the validity of anything that disagrees with it.
…Anyhow, yes…while people can absolutely make him such in AUs and personal canon if that’s what they enjoy, it makes me extremely annoyed when people conflate that with canon, and I will never be able to truly understand the appeal of it in general. The idea of two characters who are just “absolutely unhinged, cold blooded assassins who care only about each other” is, in my opinion, far less interesting than, and even downright insulting to, the deep characters that both he and Paul are, and the great narrative foil that the emotional, shy, sensitive, openly caring, and much more mercy-minded and life-valuing Arthur makes to the admittedly unhinged and cold-blooded (but still very much deeper than fandom treats him) Paul.
People can like what they like, but man, it is definitely not for me, and I feel like if that’s the dynamic you’re really looking for, there must be better characters out there to do it with.
Legend of Zelda fandom: See [here].
Doctor Who fandom: I’m sure there is something, but I honestly can’t think of it at this moment in time. Most of what’s enjoyed even vaguely popularly in this massive fandom is…pretty alright by me, honestly? Or at least understandable.
Ace Attorney fandom: Honestly, I have more to say on what this fandom doesn’t like than what it does, so we’ll skip over this one for now. If I think of something later, I’ll amend it.
Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel fandom: The idea that Stolas is a bad father and an equally bad person to Stella. Also that everyone in Hell must be bad in some way.
Final Fantasy fandom: …Final Fantasy VIII. Don’t get me wrong — I don’t think it’s a bad game by any means, or even a bad Final Fantasy game; I just don’t think that comparatively to some of the actually (in my opinion) amazing games that get way more shit from than they deserve, it’s really that much to write home about.
I think that it had a ton of great ideas going for it, but that a lot of those ideas got lost along the way in the quest to explore other ones — which ultimately led to the vast majority of them just barely getting touched on at all. And, of course, there’s a big major plothole where the main character gets absolutely fatally impaled by the main antagonist and then it just…basically doesn’t even get addressed at all? Also, all of the main characters sharing the exact same backstory and then just having conveniently forgotten about it was…deeply underwhelming and felt a bit lazy, to be honest.
And…yeah… I liked some of the characters a ton, and I enjoyed some of the plot points, but I definitely can’t understand why it’s hailed as being so great compared to certain others that are just…objectively actually more solid and well-written.
Pikmin fandom: I wanted to try to be as absolutely thorough as possible in listing out any of the series that I love and have actively participated in the fandom of (whether that be going out of my way to interact with fan content for it or making my own, or both), but honestly, I haven’t been around the fandom of this one quite enough to know if there are any popular takes or favorites out there that I’d strongly disagree with, or of which I’d particularly question the appeal.
Xenoblade Chronicles fandom: I know this is probably going to piss off a lot of people out there, but honestly, both Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3 — but for opposite reasons, and with the DLC games notwithstanding for both of them, as I have few complaints with either of those.
I understand why people love Xenoblade 2 as a story on the whole — even if I think the first five chapters are largely very weak with only a few highlights and far too much filler and have terrible pacing — because the last five chapters just make every bit of the initial drudgery worthwhile, but I what I cannot and will never understand are the people who think the gameplay is somehow anywhere even close to good — much less god tier. Genuinely, there are not a lot of games I would call worse and less user friendly gameplay-wise in the modern era than Xenoblade 2; as a matter of fact, there is so much wrong with it that I can’t even begin to unpack all of the problems here, except to try to just lump it all together and put it very simply by saying that a fully paid-for, full price game absolutely should not entirely rely upon you having good luck in an absurdly rigged, file-dependant rng pity-system-granting uncheatable gacha system in order to progress the main plot, and even still make you sit through hours waiting for the skills to unlock on those characters that you have to be lucky enough to get good RNG assigned to your file to even get a halfway decent chance to get through further, still absurdly rigged RNG.
Normally, I would say how good a game is or isn’t is just a matter of personal opinion and what one is looking for, but legitimately, if you see no problem with this game’s gameplay and view it as something that should be defended, then you either got the best possible RNG in the world and played the game at such an absurdly slow pace that you somehow never even encountered one instance where skill unlocking slowed you down from progressing the plot, or you are just the biggest simp in the world for this game and you’re lying because you just can’t stand the idea of not defending every single aspect of this game even if you know for a fact that part of it is awful and inexcusable.
And as Xenoblade 3, that game has the opposite problem; whereas Xenoblade 2 had an overall amazing story the farther you progress with terrible gameplay, Xenoblade 3 has overall amazing gameplay with a (for the franchise) absolutely weak story that just completely drops the ball at the end. Thankfully, just as Torna: The Golden Country largely improved on the gameplay of Xenoblade 2 with its release, Future Redeemed largely improves and even fixes and, dare I say redeems, the story of Xenoblade 3 (even if it does make it feel a bit redundant in some aspects)…but…that doesn’t excuse the game being weak initially to begin with compared to its predecessors, and I truly can’t understand what all the hype for it was before the DLC released, as at the time I only found it a massive disappointment in all of the worst ways considering its series’ strong reputation for cut-above storytelling and incredible foreshadowing.
Also…in regards to Xenoblade 1…I don’t understand the appeal of Shulk and Melia as a mutually required ship — I’m sorry; if you love it, that’s 100% valid and I hope you have fun with it, but like…I just see zero romantic chemistry between them on Shulk’s side; I honestly see more chemistry potential between Fiora and Melia and that isn’t even canon on any level. I really think Melia is just best narratively having a one-sided interest in Shulk; anything else has always just felt forced to me.
Pokémon fandom: This is one of those fandoms where I have more of a problem with the dislikes than the likes, but I guess as with most games, I don’t really see the appeal of a truly open world; Scarlet and Violet pulled it off alright, but it wasn’t entirely open, and even then it had the typical issues of limiting storytelling ability through lack of any linearity at many points. I know many people are going to say “oh, but Pokémon has very rarely had a super deep story; it’s pretty much only a select few of the middle and more recent gens that did this”, and that may be true, but…why should we have to go back from that?
People use this excuse with many older games that have had a long series — that because their first iterations “weren’t that deep”, it’s somehow the natural and most acceptable course of action to go back to those roots, even if they’ve come very far from that over the years, and to me it’s just absurd. It’s like saying that we should go back to using outhouses because that is the purest form of using a bathroom and it was the way bathrooms were always meant and intended to be used; as we get more advanced in technology, we are naturally going to progress and do more that once could only have been a dream to us before. All old games weren’t necessarily lacking story because they “didn’t want to do anything more”, but because they didn’t have those capabilities. 2D games weren’t all 2D because no one wanted them to ever be seen in 3D, but because 3D wasn’t possible yet.
I will never understand the desire to backtrack on progress made simply because “that’s how it was back in the day”.
…Also, as far as the anime, I get that the idea of Ash growing up would’ve been cool and all, but like…I seriously don’t understand why it’s that big of a deal to people. Ash staying in a form that’s iconic is hardly surprising or beyond understanding, and really I would’ve cared more to see Ash grow emotionally from all of his journeys than physically, but eh. To each their own.
Super Mario fandom: The OoC situation that happened with Princess Peach at the end of Super Mario Odyssey. Straight up, I will say that I’ve never played the game, but from what I have heard (and please do correct me if I’m wrong!!!), Peach straight up rejects both Bowser and Mario from marrying her at the end, and like…for some reason everyone thinks this is some cool girl power moment instead of realizing that this, while maybe a cool message had it been any other character with any other two pushy suitors, is…actually deeply out of character for her.
It wouldn’t be so incredibly OoC if it weren’t for the fact that in all previous Mario games, Peach has been explicitly in love with Mario and very, very happy to be with him and be very romantic with him every time he’s rescued her, and he’s always been a gentleman to her, too, so like…the whole thing just sounds really off to me and I’m not sure why not many people are bothered by this like I am.
Maybe I just don’t have the context everyone else does. I don’t know.
Persona fandom: …Persona 5; don’t get me wrong, I actually enjoyed the story of this one quite a bit and I think it had great foreshadowing, but like…at least comparatively to 3, I don’t know why it seems to be “the baby” of the fandom. As a story, 3 is just so much more compelling and emotionally high stakes, with a lot more actual deaths and consequences and, frankly, more interesting twists and characters on the whole, and that’s all I’m going to say on that…for now.
Persona 5 was…pretty alright; Persona 3 was stellar.
Makai Ouji fandom: Pretty much the same situation as Pikmin here; while I’ve technically been in this fandom for at least 7 or 8 years, I…don’t really have enough active interaction with the greater fandom to know if there are any popular opinions or ideas I’d disagree with.
There are some fandoms that I just…don’t really have the drive to engage with that much outside of the source material, and this is one of them. Sometimes you feel called to engage with and observe the larger fan base and its creations, and sometimes you just don’t; this is one of the latter times.
Person of Interest fandom: I’m just gonna say it — Shoot. I know it’s canon, but honestly, that pairing felt so fucking forced — and I don’t mean forced as in “oh, they need to stop shoving gay relationships down our throats” like you’d expect to hear from some bigot or something, I mean forced as in they weren’t compatible, there was no chemistry, and literally no strong lead-up to the relationship whatsoever. One day the Machine was just like “oh I predict a possible timeline where you two get together” and then suddenly that one hypothetical possible scenario was enough for them to actually get together after an eternity of hating each other and torturing each other and literally trying to kill each other.
I think the pairing sucks and it felt terribly shoehorned at the very end of the show, when there were a million better options out there for the both of them, and then within like two episodes they killed one of them off anyway.
If anyone reading this likes it, then good on you, but personally I will just never understand the appeal of it.
Code Vein fandom: Honestly, the same situation as Pikmin and Makai Ouji here. I love the game dearly and I definitely consider myself a member of the fandom, but also I’ve never truly interacted with the rest of the fandom enough longterm to pick up on any grievances I might normally have about it; what little I have seen of the fandom, they’re very nice and chill people who really enjoy character creation mode, and pretty much that’s all I know of them.
Five Nights at Freddy’s fandom: Damn, I guess this is how I come out about being this one after years of silence, huh…
Oh well… I’m sure there are actually many things I could be talking about here if I put my mind to it lol, but I’ll probably just go with the fact that wayyyy too many people are comfortable and content with just writing off Gregory as evil or cold-blooded, when Ruin made it pretty damn clear that the Mimic was the one who made Cassie take the plunge in the elevator, and not him.
This fandom has a lot of wildly incorrect theories, though.
…Also, I don’t really understand the appeal of wanting to fuck the animatronics, but meh, maybe they’re just not humanoid enough for me. *shrugs* I like my anthropomorphic animals to have a massive dash of humanoidness to them and these guys just…don’t. Also they’re inherently super spooky and I’m not usually about that life.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE fandom: Dude, we’re seriously a fandom of like literally 5 people across the entire internet; we ain’t big enough of a fandom to have problems amongst ourselves about popular takes. A take from one single person could be considered popular here. …But really, we all seem pretty cool from what I’ve seen.
Fringe fandom: I don’t usually actively engage in this one’s large-scale fandom, either, but when I have…I can’t say I’ve ever seen a take I disagreed with, really; at least not one that’s stood out to me, so…yeah. It’s all good, I guess.
Nier Replicant/Automata fandom: Honestly, we have the same situation here as Pikmin, Makai Ouji, Code Vein, and Fringe. I have no idea about the favoritism or the takes because I don’t really hang out in this fandom in my spare time all that much.
I’m sure there are things I’d take issue with if I searched enough, but what little I’ve seen of it is fine.
Other fandoms: Since I’m sure I’m forgetting quite a few and/or don’t consider myself a big/long/active enough fan to list them here, I’ll just lump all the rest into this category and say, obviously if I have had any interactions that I’ve learned fandom takes or favorites I’ve disagreed with from, they didn’t make a big enough impression to end up on this list, so all things considered, they must not be super bad to me — probably.
Aaaand that’s all of them! Thanks for the ask and happy reading!

hi! i just finished reading your essay on metal's influence on mcr and i loved it so much! I'm not a metalhead per se, my little brother is, I'm the older emo/punk sibling lol, but there's so much overlap in our music taste and we often talk for hours about the interconnectedness of punk and metal, and their predecessors, rock and roll legends like jimi hendrix and his revolutionary interpretation of blues, as well as the culture/counterculture in the scenes that defined the respective genres. in short, it's something I'm incredibly passionate about, and I just happened to come across your post while reading our band could be your life, which talks about the development underground indie scene from '81-'91 (minor threat, black flag, ad nauseam) so it was perfect timing. it was a fantastic read and your passion poured through every paragraph, and I appreciate it so much as someone who also cares deeply about music history. sorry for the long ask, i just had to let you know ! much love!
oh wow, thank you so much for such a nice ask! i will always be a metalhead first and foremost but, ultimately, im glad this spoke to interconnectedness <3 and idk im glad you have that relationship with your brother, it was kinda an unintended consequence of the primer but the way siblings impact your taste or love of music kept like. appearing in ray, gerard, and mikeys lives. as an older sibling, i do try to pass my stuff on and accept a bit of k-pop video watching time in return. there's something about those exchanges..... and it's kind of the foundation of mcr too
omg yes i also think blues is so so important for any rock related discussion. like, for metal, the blues made black sabbath. honestly, i mentioned this briefly in the post but franks very personal, direct connection to the blues is like. one of the reasons he stands out pretty singularly even as a devoted post-nirvana diy kid. and obv everything comes back to it too. maybe in the future I'll do a quickie blues post.
ive owned our band could be your life for like. a full year now and haven't gotten to it 😩 i could say well im working on my thesis but i pulled off this whole thing so what's my excuse fhfkfhfjfh I'll get to it i will
But seriously, ty again for the kind words im really glad you read and like the post :)) much love to you too!!

Weird OC Links ask, but which of their Hyrules are most connected to other parts of the world? In some games (OoT, TP) Hyrule seems extremely isolated, while in a lot of Legend's games it seems well-connected with other countries. Do some of your AUs have stronger connections to Holodrum/Labrynna/Hytopia/etc, and does that mean some of your OC Zeldas are much more used to travel than others, or does one not really follow from the other?
Hmm good question! I haven't really considered that before, that's interesting.
I don't know about everyone, but Lost's Hyrule is fairly isolated. They have good or okay relations with peoples that live IN their borders like the Zora or Gorons, but outside? Not much trade or anything going on there. There's a little bit here and there, but not much. Lost is also earlier timeline though, pre-oot, so who knows how big those kingdoms even are at that point?
Berry I think is a little less like that, more like in Legend's games where other countries are more well-known and stuff. He miiight be in the downfall timeline, so that could be a reason why. I think there's generally more trade and stuff that goes on, or at least mentions of other countries and stuff, especially since the current queen married in from somewhere and they're also trying to marry Basil off. Maybe Berry travels around when he's older? Adventure no.2..?
Swamp I do not know. He certainly doesn't know XD if I go with my idea that a good portion of his Hyrule is a swamp, then other countries probably tend to avoid the place. If nothing else, it's a pretty natural barrier against any enemies lol.

@sparkingoverload So! Wild’s DnD sheet. :3c
I’ve statted him as a modified half-elf variant. I went with Eladrin first, because seasonal Even More Fey elf felt right – I love the idea of him having leafy ear-tips and other planty offshoots that change with the seasons, but being stuck in the castle and Zelda’s royal retinue and court year-round, maybe trimming those bits so as to fit in uniform or else just quietly wilting/molding because the environment really isn’t hospitable for his wildness – but he really didn’t need to be able to teleport in a rush of flame whenever he feels like it when I’m already lining things up to give him a more reasonable teleportation option. I gave him the basic Eladrin suite besides that, Aquan language proficiency thanks to growing up in Zora’s Domain, and then stole the half-elf’s extra skill proficiencies instead of teleportation. (He also knows Goblin and Celestial.)
Choosing backgrounds was a little fun because of the whole amnesia thing. Assuming this was post-Shrine, I went with the folk hero background, which gives him animal handling and survival proficiencies, land vehicle proficiencies, and a tool. I chose chef’s tools, which went well with the iron pot the background starts you off with! Also the various cooking-related feats I gave him, which I’ll get to later. The main trait the background gives him is rustic hospitality, meaning he blends in easily with common people and is generally well-liked, enough for them to do things for him if it won’t put them in harm’s way. (That’s a trait he shares with Twilight!) I didn’t make a tenth sheet for pre-Calamity Wild, but if I were gonna I’d probably go with some unholy amalgamation of the soldier and knight backgrounds.
Equipment-wise, I’ve given him twice-enhanced leather armor (thanks Great Fairies), manymany weapons, and a very kludged Slate, complete with runes. It’s very OP, but then again, he is level 20, and it’s a one-of-a-kind item that serves as system ID. It would be fairly easy for a concerned GM to have a Yiga or whatever steal it and let there be Consequences tm.
Despite the amnesia, I’ve decided that he retained a couple levels in the fighter class. Haven’t made any decisions about which levels came before and which came after, but either way, he’s got five levels as a Champion-class fighter, which is just enough to give him an improved crit threshold, an extra attack per turn, one-time HP regen, and bonuses for fighting with archery. The rest of his levels are, as mentioned, in fey wanderer ranger. He can deal extra damage to an enemy he marks in a fight, sense the location(s) of magical creatures within a mile, travel easily even through difficult terrain, melt into nature to become magically invisible for a turn, and reroll low damage rolls when he attacks with two-handed weapons. Thanks to his fey associations, he not only has advantage on charm/fear saves (and a bonus to any charisma check!) but can reflect the triggering charm/fear effect back on the caster. He can also deal extra psychic damage on practically every attack, and can’t be tracked except through magic unless he wants to be.
Cool spells:
On/Off (cantrip): Turns electronic devices on or off at a range of 60′.
Sudden Awakening: I love giving this to him, Legend, and Time, lol. None of them are gonna get caught in comas again if they can help it!!
Goodberry: Create a handful of magic berries. Goes well in cooking – well, presumably; I’m not sure there are any rules for how adding magic hp+ berries to hp+ cooking works, but it’s nice thematically at least.
Alarm: Good for setting up perimeters around camp! And for avoiding getting a Yiga surprise.
Summon Vehicle: Master Cycle, go! Plays very nicely with that land vehicle proficiency from his background.
Conjure Barrage: Technically you’re supposed to throw(??) a piece of ammunition to create a barrage of it that rains down on your target, but I think it’s way cooler to draw back one arrow and fire a whole 60′ cone. Being sick as hell is really the only reason I need for this one, but it also kinda maps to his whole air-archery thing.
Freedom of Movement: The toad cannot be contained. This would let him basically clip out of any restraint, including shackles. I can totally see the Yiga taking him and some of the others hostage and locking them up in a dungeon somewhere except. oops.
Summon Beast: Technically he shouldn’t get this one but I say it’s okay because it only summons Twilight.
Misty Step: Comes from the fey wanderer subclass. Twice per day, he can teleport <30′ for free, and as a bonus he can bring one other willing person with him! Tell me you can’t see him and Hyrule sneaking off like this.
The Observant feat gives him lipreading proficiency and bonuses to passive investigation/perception, and the Stealthy feat not only gives him stealth expertise but also the ability to openly move up to 10′ without being spotted so long as he ends the turn under cover. Excepting an ability score increase to Wisdom, his last two feats concern food and health recovery! The Chef feat lets him cook for the party during short rests to give everyone HP-replenishing food, and the Remarkable Recovery feat means he gets extra HP any time he regains any and bounces back easily from the brink of death.
I’ve given him the Boon of Peerless Aim, which lets him basically auto-hit one shot per short rest, and gave him the Champions’ gifts as spells (one cast per day free) instead of a blessing. He’s also got homebrew mechanics for ADHD, autism, scarring, chronic pain, and PTSD.

// feel free to ignore this post.. just me thinking thoughts
i have so many weird feelings about the future. outside of my real life, which is something i don't wanna discuss right now, i feel this... approaching melancholy about the fact that somewhat soon, legends ZA will come out and everyone will start focusing on that. don't get me wrong, i AM excited, especially after my latest replay of XY and realizing just how much this new game could bring to the table that wasn't anywhere near explored in the og games... but...
can i just say this is the first time in a long time where i feel like i don't want to leave the region? for as flawed as scarvio are, they've become some of my favorite games in the franchise for different reasons. leaving just feels... wrong, in some way. and yeah yeah, i know, just because we move on to a new region doesn't mean everyone is going to forget about scarvio or that everyone in the fandom will leave it behind or anything like that, but...
since dppt and bw/2, these games feel like home to me. maybe it's the fact that paldea is directly based on the iberian peninsula and i'm spanish, but this game has made me feel so seen. not to mention it's got one of my favorite stories in the franchise, and i love most characters in this game to bits. and i mean, they made me come back to the rp scene here on tumblr after i left in 2018, so YOU KNOW they've altered my brain chemistry HARD lmaoo
just feeling a bit irrationally sad that it won't be in the spotlight anymore i guess...
Tumblr media
outside of that, i'm also grappling with weird feelings regarding my future(?) geeta blog. i know rping is just for fun, but i always take the way i portray characters super seriously, sticking to canon as much as possible (while adding a lot of headcanons ofc) and i'm generally just hard on myself lol. i do think i have a good english level (i got a C1 bordering on C2, ffs!), but i've always found it insanely hard to write characters that talk very politely, so i'm very VERY scared of fucking it up and making geeta sound either too overtly polite or too casual on accident ajahfjfhdjfh
i also... well. this is related to personal issues. but i find my geeta hard to visualize without taking my rika's story into account. what i mean by that is that i think that, unless it's a non-canon verse, rping with other rikas as geeta would be a bit hard for me?
this is not me saying my fellow rika rpers aren't ''good enough'' or whatever, fyi, i'm just saying that i'm very particular about the way their friendship develops in my head and i don't want to/i'm not going to enforce anyone to follow that 'canon' so to speak. doesn't mean that rping with other rikas is off the table, just that it'd probably have to be a non-canon separate verse, just like how this blog has the tierra diferente verse. does that make sense...?
Tumblr media
and of course and most importantly... y'all don't know just how specific and defensive i am about geeta. the amount of terrible misrepresentation and villifying i see of her is just unbearable every single time. i fucking hate evil geeta AUs, sorry. i hate the interpretation that she abuses the people that work under her management. i hate the constant ''worst champion'' bs, i hate that people think she's shady or say that she shows no emotions. it's just. i can't. i'm tired of seeing that shit every single time. so i end up sitting down and asking myself ''is making a geeta blog a mistake??? should i just keep it low activity???? should i just not make the blog????''
so yeah. fun!
if you've made it this far in the post, thank you for reading. just needed a place to vent a little and take things off my chest fhgfhgfhdgf

Even More Lore/Facts About My ROTTMNT OC Niccolo:
Wassup y’all, I ended up coming up with some more lore/facts about my 2nd ROTTMNT OC Niccolo, and I also just want to say that I ended up editing his Character Bio a little bit for this exact reason, so if you want to re-read his Character Bio then you can if you want to, but make sure that you do it before you read this post. Anyways on with the facts/lore:
• As I said before in Niccolo’s Character Bio, Niccolo really likes Horror Media (TV Shows, Movies, Scary Stories/Legends, Etc.), and he ended up having the nickname “Mr. Edgelord” because of his interest in Horror Media (the Turtles and April call him that) and he doesn’t really mind it that much but at the same time it kinda irritates him a little bit lol.
• Niccolo actually knows the Mud Dogs and has for a really long time (ever since they were all really young and he met them some time before he was adopted), and he’s also worked with them on the side besides having his previous job of working with his adoptive father Bruce. Niccolo also gets along really well with the Mud Dogs and he especially has a soft spot for Loathsome Leonard but he would never admit that out loud lmao (Loathsome Leonard actually has a small crush on Niccolo and he hasn’t told him yet but he will eventually). Niccolo and Loathsome Leonard are also the same age (I mentioned that when I edited Niccolo’s Character Bio btw).
• Niccolo often hangs out with the TMNT’s and makes sure that they stay out of trouble, but he somehow always manages to get involved with them getting into trouble and he tries not to let it get to his head too much but he gets irritated about it sometimes (the Turtles also see Niccolo as an Older Brother-Figure even though he’s not biologically related to them and he cried a little bit after they told him that once, and he’s also the oldest out of all of them).
• At some point during the Canon Events of the show Niccolo ends up reuniting with Baron Draxum, and Niccolo was not happy about it to say the least. He has the same level of untrustworthiness as Leo when it comes to Baron Draxum and Baron Draxum has accepted that, but he wishes that Niccolo would realize that he’s not the same person that he used to be before. At some point Niccolo realized it and he’s made amends with Baron Draxum, but due to his trust issues he’s still a bit cautious around Baron Draxum.
• Niccolo is also surprisingly a really good singer and dancer (he’s even better than the Rise Bros/Turtles even though he doesn’t mean to be lol), and he’s a bit embarrassed and shy about it but whenever he does end up singing/dancing in front of people they’re really impressed by it and he’s also even sang/danced at different events before (it’s another one of his interests/hobbies and he’s very proud of it to be honest).
• Niccolo has also never really gotten into any verbal or physical fights with anyone, at least not recently, but when he was younger and still being trained to be a warrior he ended up having to fight/train with others and he didn’t really feel very comfortable with that but he didn’t really have much of a choice in the matter and he wishes that he could’ve done something to prevent it though (he also wasn’t that interested in becoming a warrior either).

hi! i’m so sorry this is gonna be weird and out of nowhere.. but i just started getting into league of legends/arcane recently & going through the grapevine of old posts & fanart (from 2012-2017), and i stumbled upon some of your old jinx cosplays!
first off, just wanna say ur cosplay is very cool, even like, a decade later.
secondly, i noticed some of ur old reposts & commissions of vi/jinx, and i thought it was interesting! i’ve pieced together that they weren’t considered siblings back then since ive came across alot of different ship art of them from that era.
i also noticed that you and your (maybe former?) gf cosplayed them together & had matching usernames and i thought it was sweet. there were a few other people that i came across who did the exact same thing with their partners & it was so cool to look at. unfortunately i couldn’t ask them anything as they’re inactive 😞.
to get to my point,,, i basically just wanted to know if the ship was popular at all? what were peoples reasonings for liking it? and when they were confirmed as sisters, were people disappointed? were you? and when did that confirmation happen?
i’m asking this because i saw that some people still ship them to this day, and i thought it was odd at first but then i wondered if i was in any place to judge, as i’ve just learned that them being sisters wasn’t always a thing. so i’m assuming there’s just still people out there who’ve shipped them for so long and just can’t let go despite what happened.
if it was MY favorite pairing that got turned into siblings, i know i’d be super pissed. that’s alot of passion, art, cosplays and more down the drain immediately. i could tell that you used to like them a lot so i just wanted to hear your experience. & maybe ur thoughts on their new sibling dynamic in arcane as well!
again, this is SO weird and out of the blue. you absolutely do not have to answer if you feel uncomfortable, but any kind of response is appreciated. i also don’t mean to sound like a stalker or anything like that, i’ve just been extremely curious since i joined the fandom not too long ago, and just wonder what everything was like before arcane. i also like to see how people perceived certain characters and ships before the show, and compare and contrast them. i’ve been in ask boxes pretty frequently today so ur not the only one😅, just trying to learn. if there’s any other information you’d like to give me for my journey, please feel free.
thank you so much if you answer and have an amazing day! really hope u see this ^_^
this is totally not a DM i ever expected to get, but hi!
thank you so much!! i really appreciate that!!
yes, that's my ex. we broke up well before arcane was released so i can't speak for how she felt about it, but i can totally talk about how i felt.
honestly? the story that's been cultivated with them and their sibling dynamic has surpassed anything i could have ever expected. i adore it. i love love love arcane.
when i was roleplaying jinx, i felt that i had come up with some random sort of headcanon backstory just to have something (being in the roleplaying community, it didn't always feel like you had to have as much information as possible, but it definitely felt like i should and that it helped, if that makes sense), but i never jived with it. it was just there to fill an empty page for the sake of filling it (and having a little fun with it).
in hindsight, it's obvious that they were sisters--but i think that (for me at least), because my ex and i loved them both so much, and we were together, it was sort of unthinkable that they'd be related. so in a way, with that hindsight, i believe it was a bit of projecting LOL
as soon as it all came out, i had that sort of "ew" moment thinking back on all of the shippy things we'd done, but i didn't like, make myself feel too bad about it because we really just didn't know. and especially with when jinx came out and in the years following her release, riot reworked a lot of the lore, did away with "the league" altogether, and revamped their entire world. it has us thinking, "well, is any of this info to be trusted anymore?" about everything they'd written and released pre-change.
once it was absolutely confirmed that they were sisters, i logged into my old jinx blog and started deleting or hiding what i could easily find of the shipping content. it felt a little gross to leave up if i had the ability to do away with it. there is no sense of posterity in keeping it.
as an unasked-for-addendum, i love cait/vi. i always have. it's a fantastic dynamic to say the least. i absolutely feigned childish hatred for it for awhile because of the ship i already had, but cait/vi is, without a doubt, where it's at.
i'd imagine that jinx/vi shippers had a similar feeling of "oh, ew, this feels kind of gross--but let's move on, because we didn't know any better, and now we do." or at least i'd hope so.
